Massed Pipe Bands

One of the most anticipated events is the Massed Pipes and Drums as they march onto the Games Field. This happens several times during the day and if one pipe band makes a stirring sound then think what 10 bands are like! All our bands come from towns and villages in the area, those from

Banff Castle Pipe Band
Buckie and District Pipe Band
Dufftown and District
Elgin Pipe Band
Forres and District Pipe Band
Huntly and District
Portsoy Pipe Band
City of Inverness Youth Pipe Band

plan to be here in 2018

Massed Pipe Bands - one of the most colourful and stirring of the events and competitions

Massed Pipe Bands

Originally formed in the British Army as bands of the Highland Regiments, most bands are now made up of dedicated and skilled volunteers who enjoy playing together and maintaining this colourful tradition.
