Flox Cottage is a charming 4 star graded south-facing self-catering cottage, restored in the 19th Century vernacular style of Abernethy Forest. Originally built in 1870, this original all-timber cottage was carefully rebuilt to the highest modern standards in 1994.  Accommodating 5 to 6 people, the cottage still benefits from its original heavy double timber roof, long since hidden under an outer cladding, making it cool and comfortable in summer and cosy warm in winter. It is situated a short walk away from the centre of Nethy Bridge, close to local amenities and has direct access via its mature enclosed garden to Balnagowan Wood and the Abernethy golf course beyond. Accommodation: The Cottage comprises 3 bedrooms (one double, one twin and a single), open plan dining kitchen/living room and bathroom with both a bath and shower. There is a sixth bed available on request as well as a cot and high chair. The cottage is furnished and equipped to provide a home from home for families or small groups. It is fully equipped with a fridge/freezer, microwave, oven/hob, auto washer/dryer, television, DVD player, WiFi, books and games for the family.  Bed linen, towels and logs for the wood burning stove are provided, and there is electric heating throughout. This cottage is truly a home from home. Outside: Flox Cottage faces South within its own fenced and well-tended garden providing both a safe area for children and the occasional four legged guest. The garden opens to the rear, via a gate, directly into the Balnagowan network of woodland paths leading to the village golf course. There is a summer log cabin, garden shed with lockable covered storage facilities for bikes and skis, a drying area and family picnic table.   From which to watch the red squirrels. The main door to the cottage is at the rear, accessed via a gentle ramp suitable for wheelchairs.  The cottage benefits from both its own driveway, parking and turning area.
